Terms of Use

By accessing or using tojpg.net ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Service Description

ToJPG is a free online file conversion service that converts various file formats to JPG. The Service is operated by ToJPG ("we", "us"). No user account or registration is required.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not:

  • Upload files that are illegal, harmful, obscene, or that you do not have the right to convert
  • Upload files containing malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • Attempt to overwhelm, disrupt, or exploit the Service (including circumventing rate limits)
  • Use the Service for automated bulk processing or scraping without prior written permission
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
  • Use the Service to infringe on the intellectual property rights of others

We reserve the right to block access to users who violate these terms without notice.

3. File Uploads & Deletion

  • Maximum file size: 100 MB per file
  • Automatic deletion: All uploaded and converted files are permanently deleted within 15 minutes of upload
  • No backups: We do not retain copies of your files after deletion
  • Your responsibility: You are solely responsible for the content of files you upload. We do not review, screen, or monitor uploaded files.

4. Intellectual Property

The ToJPG name, logo, and website design are the property of ToJPG. The conversion tools used (ImageMagick, LibreOffice, Ghostscript) are open-source software used under their respective licenses.

You retain all rights to the files you upload. By uploading a file, you grant us a limited, temporary license to process the file solely for the purpose of performing the conversion you requested.

5. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we handle your data.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • Conversion results will be accurate or meet your expectations
  • The Service will be available at all times

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TOJPG SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the Service (which is zero, as the Service is free).

8. Rate Limits & Fair Use

To ensure availability for all users, the Service enforces rate limits:

  • Maximum 3 concurrent conversion jobs per IP address
  • Maximum 500 MB upload volume per IP address per day
  • Requests exceeding these limits will receive a 429 (Too Many Requests) response

We reserve the right to adjust these limits at any time.

9. Modifications

We may modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We recommend checking this page periodically.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the Service for any user, at any time, for any reason, without notice or liability.

11. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Germany.
